I’m not a fan of regular link-vomiting. However, it’s good every once-in-a-while to let your readers know what you’re reading. So, here’s a list of some of the better links I’ve hit this week.
- Spinning Plates: How to Succeed with Multiple Projects - Super-useful post on how to manage multiple projects with effectiveness and sanity. Any church leaders out there do more than one thing at a time? If so, check this out.
- Three Reasons Why Every Freelancer Should Blog - Although this post is for freelancers, the concept translates well to small digital design studios like my own, Updatable.
- How do you sell web design services? [Forum discussion] - This discussion might give you a heads up as to how you’re being sold on a website. Think of it as an inside look.
- The Creative Sweet: Creativity Should Be Free - Super-valuable resourcing post to help you find free or cheap creative software. As church leaders, one of the biggest hurdles is budgeting. In most cases, your church’s software [especially creative software] is on the tail end and needing a serious boost. I was actually having this conversation with our church’s Admin Pastor today. We apparently have this problem, also.
- The Cleverest Idea I’ve Seen in Years - Guy Kawasaki shows a video of some kids having fun and saving lives simultaneously.
- Discount Wordpress Themes from SoloStream - If you’re looking to get more out of your blog, you might want to think about a custom Wordpress install with a new design from SoloStream. We’ll do the install for you and you can purchase one of Michael’s top-notch designs to make it look oh-so-sweet.
- Random, unedited poetry
- No Girl? How to Express Your Man Crush on Valentine’s Day Instead - Odd, but lighthearted post on Tim Ferriss’ blog.

Thanks for the link, Scott — glad you found the Creative Sweet useful! And don’t worry — affordable, good quality creative software is on the up.
I especially enjoyed looking through the newspaper designs — I’ve always had a fondness for print.
@Nick - I love print design as well. Especially good newspaper design. There’s just something about a communication medium like print-newspapers that is beautiful.
Looking forward to seeing the review of the book!!
Jermayn Parker’s last blog post..Phantom Moonstone #21 - Checkmate pt1
What an honor! Thanks Scott.
@Jermayn - Good, that gives me motivation to make sure it’s a solid review and not just slapped together. Thanks for the encouragement.
@Aaron - How could I not list that series? It’s good stuff!
Good post. You make some great points that most people do not fully understand.
